Located on lower Washington Street in downtown Vicksburg on either side of its intersection with China are several estimable Vicksburg business names. Those extant include the Attic Gallery, Abraham Department Store, Biedenharn Candy Company Museum, Corner Drug Store, Scallion's Jewelers, Marcus Furniture Company, Wilson Furniture Company, and Frederick's Shoe Store. Those in memory include Koury's, Chilton's Drug Store, the office of the state health officer Dr. F.M. Smith, The Washington Hotel and Arthur Strealy's Drug Store. Number 10 China was infamous and is extinct.
